External Graphics card for a laptop?

Hello, Ive recently been given a Acer Extensa and it has a very basic graphics card. Is there a way i can get a External graphics card for it? I mean a plug in usb one. Is it possible for a laptop?

there are some usb and pc cards that you can use to add a display but nothing that will up yur graphics
