What field of medicine should I go into?
Hi, i’m 19 and I would really love to be a doctor but doubt I have the qualifications to get there. I’ve always wanted to be one but never really had the beanbags to go for it…
I’ve got a few GCSEs at grade C, i’ve got a level 2 national diploma in professional cookery (don’t ask) and a level 3 national award + certificate in media (again, don’t ask). I’m also due a level 2 NVQ in health & social care from my job as a carer. I am willing to go into another field but don’t want to be stuck on a bog standard salary with no chance of a promotion. I’m confident that I can do it, but i’m clueless where to start. I’ve applied to UCAS for universities but people are telling me that university courses aren’t as practical as medical/nursing schools. Am I at a disadvantage if I go to university? Where do I start applying and what careers are out there for me?
You will need to watch the deadlines of individual schools as well as the SAT ACT exams. Be careful with the exams since they take a couple of months before they can reach your selected schools.
That said it is a good idea that you take a vocational interest test in order to clarify and pinpoint your thinking
