i want to know what does a “Sales Coordinator” do?

The business is a publisher. we mainly deal with legal clients and some corporate clients. (what do u think this job would involve?) The positiion is made up of sales support, customer service and general administration duties as well as opportunities to organise functions and direct and strategic marketing tasks.

The dynamic individual selected for this newly created position will be an integral contributor to the expansion of the Special Markets sales effort by providing assistance through sales support activities such as researching market contacts, investigating Jones and Bartlett publications and new titles for corporate sales opportunities, administering existing titles with outside distributor programs, coordinating internally with publishing functions of marketing, production, and manufacturing on corporate contracts and special market titles and maintaining existing vendor catalogue requirements.

Skill and experience requirements include:

-Professional & effective communication skills (verbal, written and listening), Strong phone presence, Ability to relate to people on all levels
-Excellent interpersonal skills with strong orientation toward customer service
-Goal oriented. Team player, with ability to work independently
-Strong organizational skills, attention to detail
-General computer proficiency, in particular with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel as well as internet use/navigation and previous exposure to database use.
-Minimum 1-2 years experience in sales or direct sales support, especially business-to-business (book sales exposure preferred)
-College degree or equivalent experience.
