Graphics Editing Mac

Do i have to change everything i used in windows for my mac?
I just got a MacBook Pro and I was wondering if i have to start from scratch in all my files to use the Mac? Like, do i have to create new emails bc i use hotmail as my primary email account. Microsoft office for mac, i knew about. will my WD external harddrive be compatible? instead of PhotoShop..what can i use for graphics editing? instead of Pinnacle Studios…what can i use to make video montages?
help?
I can answer a few of those.
Hotmail will work the same on a Mac as it does on a PC. If netscape doesn’t work so well, get Firefox.
You can get Microsoft Office for Mac, or you can get OpenOffice.org
Your WD external harddrive is probably formatted in NTFS. Mac, by default, can read but not write ot NTFS. You have two options
1) easier: Copy all the data to a computer. Format the external hard drive as FAT32 (which any computer can read). A Mac can format Fat32 easier than windows can. Open the Disk utility in Applications -> Utilities. Select the external hard drive from the side list and click on the erase tab. Make sure you select Fat32. Keep in mind that Fat32 does not have permissions or compression like NTFS does, but you probably won’t know the difference.
2) harder: find a program that allows Mac to write to NTFS. I have seen several possible programs, but haven’t bought any of them yet.
Use Photoshop for Mac. I don’t know about video editing.
