Graphics Card Cooling Fans

Graphics Card Cooling Fans
Cooling fans and heatsinks?

I am building a PC
It will be fairly good spec on a budget price. Including 2gb ram, 4ghz athlon 64 x2 CPU and a mid end 256mb graphics card.

I’ve been told about how many fans i need and briefly about what sorts of fans i require although i would like abit more detail if possible.
CPU fan, GRAPHICS fan, INTAKE/EXUAST fans.. all these things people mention.. a little bit about these, how many i require and what i should expect to spend on them at the end of the day.
Also thoughout some searches and word of mouth, i see heatsinks occur abit.. a little about these, how much they cost and where they go would also be great….

And do these fans need to have the right socket etc or will they all be compatible? and does the PSU wire go into it or does it plug into a socket on the mobo?

A heatsink sits on top of your CPU and a fan sits on top of it. It should come with your CPU unless you buy an OEM one. Same with your graphics card.

Intake/exhaust fans will depend on the case. They’re usually on the top, sides, and rear of the case. Most cases also allow you to add more fans for better cooling. They’re cheap and easy to install and yes, they plug into the PSU.

Always check the documentation with your mobo, PSU, and case to make sure though.
