Direct Sales Marketing Companies

Can anyone direct me as to how to go about implementing standard operating procedures for a sales department?

HELP!!! Are there any websites, books, manuals, training seminars or just plain advice ? I work for a small company that sells and installs alarm systems on yatchs. I also need tips on marketing. I was hired as an administrative assistant and got thrown into the fire with this stuff. Thanks.

Basically you are being tasked with recording procedures as to how the whole concept works. Putting in writing how we do things and what we do if different situations come up. You are in charge of setting the rule following standards of the company. You have to get with the owner and see what his desires are, and then put his standards into writing so any new employee has a set stated set of rules of what is allowed and what is not. This might include dress, attitude, customer problems etc. THere really is no guide fot this best is again to talk with your boss, find out what his expectations are and go from there. Good luck is a big project. In marketing find out what makes your company better or different than others in the same field and exploit that
