Buy Graphics Card Cooling Fans
?’s about graphics card and TV tuner?
I have a Dell Vostro 400 w/Intel Quad Core, 500 MB hard drive, nVidia (sp?) 8800GT graphics card and 4MB ram. Playing games the 8800GT runs about 70 degrees C/65 degrees ambient.
I was going to buy a AverMedia 650 PCIe x1 TV Tuner… that card would be right below the 8800GT (very snug).. and I read it runs hot as well.
I was going to also buy a PCI fan–a AOC FC2000 that supposedly works awesome. It requires 4 pin power connection.
1. Anyone know if a Dell Vostro 400 (w/a 300 watt power supply) has a spare 4 pin power supply? The 8800GT already uses one power connection (unsure how many pins). I looked in the case and didn’t see a spare connection hanging… (would it be?)
2. If I put the TV tuner next to the graphics card–will it bake one or both cards? The PCI fan would be below both cards (8800GT, TV Tuner, then fan)–would that cool them down? Or should I get a PCI TV tuner to space them out.
